High-Level Visitors to the Department of Labor

February 2 — This week, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis welcomed labor ministers from Colombia, India and the European Union (EU) and exchanged views with them on a wide range of labor and employment issues. Secretary Solis discussed ongoing technical cooperation to improve worker rights protection with Colombian Minister of Labor Rafael Pardo, signed a memorandum of understanding on labor cooperation with Indian Minister of Labor and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge, and discussed recent initiatives to address employment challenges with EU Commissioner of Labor, Social Affairs and Inclusion Lazlo Andor. The secretary also discussed the G20 Labor and Employment ministerial process and the task force on youth employment, and other issues of mutual interest with her counterparts.
